Anatman is the idea that there is no self; at least no self in the Hindu definition of atman.
There are three aspects to the concept of anatman:

1. lack of an essence.
2. impermanence.
3. interdependence on individuals and things.

So, if I disagree with point 3, and think there is a point 4, how do we break this thinking down into its component parts in order to define this state of mind? More work to follow!
